See which roofs need a survey, a quote or a date
A leak enquiry can arrive while you are finishing another roof. By evening, the details may sit across a missed call, a photo and a WhatsApp conversation. Give the enquiry one clear next step: arrange a survey, clarify the scope, send a quote or confirm the agreed work.
Knockround is roofing job management software for UK tradespeople. Its roofing demo shows sample enquiries, quotes, booked work and completed jobs on one board, with a daily planner and customer details. Explore the workflow before deciding whether it fits your repair and replacement work.
Carry the agreed scope into the booking
A quote awaiting a reply is different from work ready to start. Before agreeing a date, check the dependencies with the people responsible for them. The table below is a business planning prompt; it is not a roof survey, specification or work-at-height safety checklist.
| Stage | Record to keep | Question before moving on |
|---|---|---|
| Enquiry | Reported issue, property contact, location and survey arrangements. | Do you have enough information to assess and price the work? |
| Quote sent | Agreed description, inclusions, exclusions and outstanding customer choices. | Has the customer accepted the scope you actually intend to carry out? |
| Booked | Confirmed dates and the status of materials, access and relevant arrangements. | Are the dependencies confirmed, or is the date still provisional? |
| Done | Completion record and any remaining customer or paperwork actions. | What remains to finish, hand over or reconcile before closing the job? |
Keep a moved start date from hiding a live enquiry
Fictional workflow example: a roofer has a gutter repair booked for Tuesday, a re-roof quote awaiting an answer and a new enquiry about slipped tiles. A change to the repair's date should update that booking and its customer conversation. It should not turn the unanswered re-roof quote into booked work or make the survey enquiry disappear.
Use a next-action note for each job: confirm the revised repair date, follow up the quote or arrange the survey. For multi-day work, check the effect on later bookings before promising another start. This is a planning method to test in the demo and then in the app, not a promise of automatic weather rescheduling or dependency management.
Try the roofing board with your own working questions
- Start with an enquiry. Find the reported problem and decide what you would need before quoting.
- Open a quote. Check how the proposed work and price are presented. Explore the sample customer acceptance flow.
- Check booked work. Look at the planner and ask whether the job details and access notes are easy to find from your phone.
- Review a finished job. Keep the completion stage distinct from the payment record, including anything still owed.
The public roofing demo uses made-up jobs, customers and prices. Those prices are not recommended roofing rates. The demo sends nothing to real customers.
Choose around the work you actually run
Try it with one repair and one larger job, and see how surveys, revised scope, more than one visit and the final handover fit. If you need measured take-offs, roof drawings, supplier purchasing, crew allocation or staged billing, ask for a clear capability check before replacing your existing tools. A simple jobs board alone does not establish those features.

Questions from the van
Can I follow up a roofing quote from my own number?
The WhatsApp flow prepares text for you to review and send. It does not deliver messages automatically. Our quote follow-up guide includes practical reply templates and a manual tracker.
Is this a roofing estimating or safety system?
No. Knockround's demonstrated workflow organises jobs and quotes. You remain responsible for assessing the work and using the specialist estimating, technical and safety processes your business requires.
