Keep the next action with the job
A new enquiry, a quote waiting for an answer and a finished job awaiting payment need different follow-ups. When they sit in one WhatsApp inbox or a list of names, it is easy to spend the evening working out what happened. A job record gives each piece of work a clear stage and a next action.
Knockround is job management software for UK tradespeople. Its public demo shows a board from enquiry to quote sent, booked, done and paid, alongside customer details and a daily planner. The customers, prices and replies in the demo are fictional; it is a way to assess the workflow before arranging access.
Different trades, different loose ends
Plumbing and heating
A leaking tap call-out and a bathroom installation should not disappear into the same unstructured note. Record the reported issue, the address, access arrangements and what still needs pricing. For a larger job, keep the quote separate from the proposed visit date until the customer agrees. Use your existing specialist systems for regulated work and certificates.
Electrical work
A fault-finding visit might have an agreed arrival window; a consumer-unit enquiry may first need a survey and a quote. Keep those next steps visible. Add useful access notes, such as when a tenant will be in, rather than relying on remembering the last phone call. Knockround is an organising tool; it does not issue electrical certificates.
Roofing
A slipped-tile repair and a multi-day re-roof have very different booking needs. Before confirming a date, check materials, scaffold arrangements, access and the forecast. Keep the customer-facing scope clear, including what is included and what needs another visit. A board helps you see which jobs are agreed and which are still waiting for a decision.
Give each stage a clear meaning
- Enquiry: capture the request, contact details and the next step, whether that is a call, a visit or a quote.
- Quote sent: check the scope and price before sharing it. The demo lets you explore a customer acceptance flow.
- Booked: confirm the agreed date, access and anything you need ready before arriving.
- Done: record the work as complete and check any outstanding actions. Completion does not mean the money has arrived.
- Paid: record payment once it has actually been received and checked against the job.
Knockround prepares WhatsApp messages for you to review and send from your own phone number. Automatic WhatsApp delivery is not included. Nothing in the public demo is sent to real customers.
Try the workflow before changing your tools
Open a demo for plumbing, electrical work or roofing. Follow a job from the board to the customer record and look at the daily planner. Ask whether it covers the admin you actually repeat, then tell us where your process differs.
Pricing is £19.99 a month or £199 a year, after 7 days free (nothing is charged until the 7 days end). Invoices carry a Pay button, so customers can pay by Apple Pay, Google Pay or card into your own Stripe account; VAT invoicing and Direct Debit are not available yet. If your diary mainly repeats the same houses, the window cleaning round workflow may be a better starting point.
