Keep the visit and the next action together

A fault-finding call, a consumer-unit enquiry and a return visit for agreed work need different next steps. When all three live in a message inbox, you have to reconstruct the job before you can answer the customer. Keep the request, the planned visit and the outstanding decision visible together.

Knockround is job management software for UK electricians. Its electrical demo shows sample enquiries, quotes, booked jobs and payment tracking, with customer notes and a daily planner. It is an organising workflow to explore alongside the specialist tools you already use.

Electrical certificates are outside this workflow. Knockround does not generate EICRs, Electrical Installation Certificates or Minor Works certificates. A sample inspection appointment in the demo is a booking example, not evidence of certification capability.

Know who can confirm the job

The person who first calls may not be the person providing access, approving a quote or receiving the paperwork. Keep these responsibilities clear in your own records, without assuming that a saved contact name answers all three questions.

Questions to settle before an electrical visit
Work typeDetails to clarifyNext action
Fault-finding enquiryReported issue, property contact and the agreed visit arrangements.Confirm the assessment visit and what the customer understands is included.
Quoted installationScope, customer choices and who can accept the proposal.Resolve questions before turning a quote into a confirmed booking.
Landlord or agent bookingProperty address, tenant access contact and the person authorising the work.Confirm access and keep any later remedial quote distinct from the original visit.
Completed workCompletion state, remaining actions and payment record.Check the required handover in your specialist system before closing your records.

These are administrative prompts. They do not define inspection requirements, testing intervals, technical decisions or who is qualified to carry out the work.

Keep the original visit distinct from new work

Fictional workflow example: an electrician completes a booked visit at a rental property, then sends a separate quote for additional work to the landlord. The first visit can be complete while the new quote is still awaiting a reply. The tenant's availability also needs checking before another date is agreed.

A useful record makes each state clear: original visit completed, additional quote sent, next contact due and return visit unconfirmed. Use your existing certificate system for any inspection findings and documents. The purpose of the job record is to keep the customer conversation and booking from getting lost between those steps.

Try a normal day in the electrical demo

  1. Read the enquiry. Find the customer request and decide whether the next step is a call, a survey or a quote.
  2. Review the quote. Explore the sample description, price and customer acceptance flow. All example figures are fictional.
  3. Check the visit details. Open the planner and customer note. Ask whether you can find the address and access arrangements quickly.
  4. Check what remains open. Keep work completed, a follow-up required and payment received as separate facts.

The electrical demo is public and contains made-up customers. It sends nothing to real people. WhatsApp text is prepared for you to review and send from your own number; delivery is not automatic.

Check the boundaries before changing systems

Tell us about your certificate software, any accounting package and how you organise more than one person. Do not assume that Knockround syncs those systems or provides engineer permissions, stock control, CIS processing or compliance checks. Ask the team to demonstrate the exact workflow you need during onboarding.

Pricing is £19.99 a month or £199 a year, after 30 days free with no card. Create and share invoices, then connect your own Stripe account and complete its setup to accept card payments. Customers can use Apple Pay or Google Pay when supported by their device and Stripe Checkout. VAT invoicing and Direct Debit are not available yet. Keep your certificate tools: Knockround does not produce electrical certificates.

Before you join

Does Knockround replace electrical certificate software?

No. It demonstrates job organisation and quoting. Keep your specialist system for certificates, testing records and any required submissions.

What should I try first?

Start with a normal enquiry-to-booking journey and one awkward return visit, and see where approvals and paperwork sit. For a quote awaiting a decision, our follow-up guide can help you record the next contact.
